2011 Fund Drive

Dear Friends,

I am writing you on behalf of Friends for a Heritage Center at Mill Park, Inc., Augusta, Maine. Our major goals are to repair, restore, and develop the last building of the once massive cotton mill of Bates Manufacturing, Edwards Division, into a museum. This mill once stood along the mighty Kennebec River in downtown Augusta, currently known as Mill Park. It's location is absolutely perfect to honor the thousands of workers who earned their living at the cotton mill. Today, the workers' legacies live on in their children and grandchildren, the majority of them becoming proud, contributing citizens of our community.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO HONOR THESE PEOPLE

We are a non-profit group currently working in collaboration with the city in applying for a $200,000 matching grant, which will help us repair the building, and make the first floor available for the museum.
We plan to use every last dime to repair, restore, and create the Heritage Center at Mill Park. If we can raise $10,000, it proves we have community support. This is standard for anyone applying for a large grant. Please help us reach this goal before June 11, 2011. We would truly appreciate your tax deductible gift in any amount.

WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN

Sincerely,

Jan Michaud
President
