Our Mission
The mission of the Friends for a Heritage Center at Mill Park is to preserve and protect the last remaining and historic building at Mill Park for use as a city wide heritage center here at the site of former Bates Manufacturing, Edwards Mill (1882-1984).
Our Purpose
The purpose of Friends for a Heritage Center at Mill Park is for the educational enjoyment of the public regarding Augusta's rich history. The Heritage Center's purpose is first to focus on the workers at Edward's Mill. Later, its purpose is to include areas of housing, manufacturing, merchandising, shipping, and other businesses such as education, medical, political, social, religious, and recreational aspects of living in Augusta.
